MHBA MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Advancing the Next Generation of Lawyers Today

The Maryland Hispanic Bar Association (MHBA) is proud to launch its newly formalized Mentorship Program, an initiative designed to strengthen and support the pipeline of Hispanic and/or Latinx legal professionals across Maryland.

This program advances MHBA’s mission to foster integrity, professionalism, leadership, and collaboration among attorneys while creating meaningful pathways for growth and advancement.

Program Overview and Goals

The program connects law students, entry-level attorneys (mentees) with experienced attorneys and/or judges (mentors).

Through structured one-on-one engagement and professional programming, the program provides:

  • Career guidance and strategic advice

  • Professional development support

  • Community building within the Maryland legal field

Professional Programming & Special Opportunities

In addition to individual mentoring sessions, the program will offer group programming and professional development events designed to enhance legal skills, leadership development, and collaboration.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend MHBA professional development and networking events throughout the program period.

Once Mentees and Mentors are selected and paired, there will be a meet and greet event with the MHBA Executive Board.

Special Opportunity for Law Students

Law student participants will receive priority consideration to serve as student volunteers at the MHBA 2026 Annual Gala and will be able to attend at no cost. This event provides invaluable exposure to leaders within Maryland’s legal community and is the biggest MHBA event of the year.
