Judicial Independence: A Statement from the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association
In recent years, we have witnessed a disturbing increase in threats and acts of violence against judges. Judges have been attacked, threatened, and even killed simply for performing their duties. In recent weeks, the current administration has called for the impeachment of federal judges who ruled contrary to its interests. An official from the administration went so far as to publicly release the personal information of a judge's daughter following an unfavorable ruling.
